Restaurant Conversations

I love listening to the conversations of others.
I figure that if their voices can be overheard, it’s “fair game” to include in my writing.

A waitress walks up to the pick-up counter for her two customers’ orders.
She picks up the baskets, looks at both, hesitates and then motions for another person to come close.

“Do you see what’s wrong with this order?”

“No. I don’t see anything wrong.”

“Take this to the kitchen and see if they notice what’s wrong with the order.”

In the kitchen, the server hands the basket to a chef and says, “Sally wanted me to bring this back to you.
She said to ask if you could figure out what’s wrong with this order.”

Both chefs look at the basket and then pick up the top bun of the burger: it was burger-less.

Laughter resonated from the kitchen; a burger quickly filled the empty bun.

Another vegetarian meal, averted.

Are you missing anything?  How about some laughter?  Try to laugh or smile today, it'll do you some good.
Email me at  I'd love to hear what makes you laugh.

Have a great day.
